When will Seagate release a 10,000 RPM SATA drive?

I've been waiting to get a SATA 10K RPM drive from Seagate for a long time. I simply don't trust WD drives. Anyone know when it will happen?

They probably won't, just not a HUGE demand. It's big because we know computers, joe blow wouldn't know what the hell we're talking about.

true dat

Raptors took a long time to update ands its moderately popular

do they not feel bad with western digital blowing away the 7.2k and some of the 10k server line away in benchmarks? =/

raptors have the gaming crowd and the performance crowd going for it, seagate will need a lot to crack that market share i think
raptors have 5 year warranty like seagate drives, normal WD is 3 yrs

They both have 15K rpm SCSI lines now I believe. I'll do fine with the Fujitsu 10K RPM U360 drives in my server 🙂

The 1st Raptor I had developed corrosion on the SATA connection, keeping it from working. The RMA I got a year ago has been humming along fine, though.
