When will new Macbook Pros arrive?

I'm planning on selling my PC laptop and going the route of a Macbook user. I've always wanted to use OSX, and I'm going to be bootcamping so I can still have my Windows 7 install. Anyway, when are the updated Macbook Pros set to arrive? Has there been any news about it yet? I'm really looking forward to an i7 powered Macbook.

Well they usually come out every 6 months right? So, we're due. If I recall Intel spilled the beans and mentioned Apple has i5 laptops in the works, but that could just be a rumor.

Seriously, I was really hoping for a refresh during the keynote yesterday. I ready and willing to buy.

Man I was so bummed they didn't announce a refresh and there's no way in hell I'll buy until they do.

Damn you Jobs!

Exactly. The new ones were great when they were announced... a year ago. The new i7 cores are supposed to be amazing. I just want a new laptop right now!

There was a leak from Intel last week that mentioned i5 MBPs end of January. No one knows for sure though, "soon".

That and it isn't as easy as just dropping in the OS X disk and pressign install. You need to make sure that you have a configuration that will work and even then who knows if everything will work. Graphics, sound, wireless, trackpad... any one of them might not work.

It is a shame that it isn't that easy, but at the same time, very few PCs match Apple build quality.

Speaking of configuration, I'm not sure that a lot of i3 and i5 machines that use Intel's on-die graphics will be usable with OSX; at least, until Apple goes back to GMA graphics in its Macbook line. D: Just because I'm pretty sure there are no kexts yet for it.

Not to mention, I doubt with all the hype about OpenCL that there ever will be kexts for Intel graphics until Intel gets their heads out of their arse and makes their GMA fully OpenCL compliant. Last I checked it didn't support all the commands, but I could be wrong.

I have the Gateway P-7811FX, and I've tried and TRIED to hackintosh it, but when I get OSX installed, my camera doesn't work, my trackpad doesn't work, my graphics and sound don't work, and my wifi doesn't work. Kind of pointless to use. Hm?

I was just thinking about trying it and you saved me an afternoon.
