So seriously, last price drop the e6420 hit $195 on day 1, this time around I am NOT impressed with the prices.... $205 for the e6750 at places that don't have stock, more $210+ship (or more) for a place that has it in stock...

Grrrrrr

the prices are for 1000 quantity. The distributors pay that and they have to make a profit to stay in business. You won't see those prices....

mWave is selling them for $195 and $191 if you get it with a mobo combo. Your complaining about $10? LOL

Skott. thats no longer the case. Mwave is now selling it at $209 regardless whether you get it with a mobo combo or not, which sucks. They are kinda following NewEgg's footstep now. :(

Uhm...how about whenever you decide to buy them in batches?

Is this a serious question or are you a tad daft as to what exactly "batch price level" even means?

I got my e6750 for $207 shipped and I'm pretty happy with that. They might go down a few bucks in the next few weeks/months but I can't see them dropping below $183 + shipping, say $190 or so. $17 for an extra month or 2 on a cpu that I'm only keeping for 12-18mos seems reasonable to me.

I got it with a fry's combo the other day.

279.99 for a boxed Intel DG33BUC and boxed e6750.

since mwave, newegg and other pretty much every other etailers are all in california it didn't make much difference to me I have to pay tax.

cheapest the motherboard can be found for is 98.99 at newegg. so it only costed me 181 for cpu.

ummmmm, $20.84 seems a bit excessive for shipping...hmmm, 20.84 + 187.96 = 208.80 shipped.

For people in the US shipping from ncix will probably be more due to the fact it ships from ships through the canadian postal service which means it is shipping from canada and shipping across the border is what probably costs so much although I did read they have some facilities in washington state (where I happen to reside) but they might just be a RMA place. I was so excited about a 188 proc too.:(

Yes I'm serious and yes I know what I'm talking about... Last price drop chips started at ~$10 over batch and FREE shipping... I just want to see the same thing again.

And for those of you with the insults and the 'get over it, it's just money' attitude, if you don't have anything valuable to contribute keep your mouth shut.

Fixed it.

Give it 2 or 3 months.

Distributors pay significantly less than the 1ku tray price. But the problem is the parts are being booked as soon as they're available. In addition, at the bottom level, resellers are choosing to charge more at this point.

What I am wondering is that the e6750 is the upgrade to the e6700 (with increased FSB) and the reviews I have seen show that there is virtually no performance difference.

So why is the old chip still like $100 more?

Yeah, I see they upped their prices. Antaresdigital has them for $197 which isnt bad considering many places are over $200 now. Not sure what shipping would be though. Gotta shop around and be ready to pounce I guess. Hopefully next week we'll see some better pricing.

I still haven't seen anyone with an e6750 for less than 207 shipped. I know that a few people jumped on the original prices at some of the etailers for less than 200, but they went up like a rocket because demand was much higher than supply. I'm pretty confident that I could have gotten a price closer to 190 shipped if I would have waited a month or two, but I'm satisfied with paying a slight premium to get the chip now. most of the Q6600's have a much higher premium than just $24 btw.

the etailers are still asking for the higher prices for the e6700 b/c they paid a lot more for those chips. the e6700 is not a bad chip for boards that don't support 1333 fsb or people who want to oc on an older board that has trouble getting to a higher fsb.

I dunno. If they are getting them at Intel's July 22nd pricing of $183 then they are making a profit. Some places have restocked this week so I know they are getting them at the new prices and not the pre 22nd prices. Still, in the end supply and demand controlling things. Once the intitial rush is over we should see some better pricing. I guess we should be thankful it wasnt as bad as the Q6600 prices are. They been steadily building in price since the July 22nd drop. At least the E6750 dropped for a few days before going up and so far the rise isnt as bad as the Q6600 rise.

The E6700's are not dropping in price and are still the old $316, Intel is forcing people to go for the 1333FSB sku's which means a possible motherboard upgrade for some. It's sort of like how the E6300 and E6320 are the exact same price despite the fact that E6320 is superior.
