When will I be able to renew my domain?

So my domain expired on July 16th. I needed to renew it but I was gonna change hosts so I was going to renew it with GoDaddy rather than my current Web host. Problem is, the domain name is still resolving and furthermore it hasn't been released yet, it is still shown as taken but expired.

When can I expect to be able to renew it again?

Expired Domains are typically released into 'Pending Delete' status 30-90 Days after they actually expire. They then typically stay 'Pending Delete' for 3-7 days, after which point the domain can be snagged...

Be careful though, this can be a VERY dangerous game to play.. There are MANY sites that specifically try to grab expired domains once they delete (Snapnames, Namewinner, etc..), even ones you wouldnt think people want....

BTW, the reason for the 30-90 day period, is an attempt to allow the original owner to renew his domain without losing it.

use godaddy top renew it now. They offer an option for this. It works well assuming all the information maches. if you do not know who is your registrar, godaddy can help you find it. 🙂

You need to transfer the domain to GoDaddy.

Go to this page for transfers.

Don't let your domain expire. It has passed the renewal date but they still hold it for a length of time before they officially let it go.
