When will Gov. Scott Walker's Middle-Class Tax Cuts Kick In?

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has been saying in recent interviews that he will provide a decrease in state income taxes for those within the $20,000-$200,000 salary range. This will help to compensate for the increase in the federal payroll taxes. He said that he will unveil further details in the budget address on February 20th. The income tax decrease will be funded by the $342 million dollar surplus resulting from his party's reforms. Does anyone know when Wisconsin's state budget will actually be enacted? Hard-working middle class taxpayers in Wisconsin would benefit greatly from receiving this tax reduction as soon as possible.

This is in contention for title of forum's most pointless thread! :)

Let's see, first the Wisconsin State Legislature has to create and pass a bill...

Or are we hoping the entire state constitution is thrown out the window for your pleasure?

So, in other words, you don't know the answer to the question, huh?

Wisconsin budgets run 2 years, from july to june. If the tax cut is going to be part of the budget, I would geuss, that your tax cut will start no sooner then july.

Tought shit? He said Feb 20th by your own admission. It is Jan 24th. What are you expecting?

Contact the governors office and ask if you can wait for the speech.

Remember, that just because he proposes it does not mean the legislature will enact it.

Well, Wisconsin's legislative branch has Republican majorities in both chambers. If the tax cut doesn't happen the Republican party will have no one to blame but themselves.

I can see you edited your post, only to leave the list of unrelated stories.

Look, this link is as helpful as yours: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=unrelated+old+news

Michael answered my question. You did not. Nice try though.

Okay twinkletoes, my link showed that previous budget votes came end February. Your writing says Walker will give a speech Feb 20. You will likely know then what the future budget legislation will be.

Your question was "When will Gov. Scott Walker's Middle-Class Tax Cuts Kick In?" The answer is whatever is written into law.

Thank you. Please try again.

Next (Maybe just a reelection promise) year after people forget the gas tax hike and car registration increases he wants to enact now.

Best to read your links on the gas tax.
It is DOA

MADISON, Wis. -

It would cost more to register a vehicle, get a driver's license and buy gas in Wisconsin under a series of recommendations expected to be finalized by a group studying ways to shore up transportation funding in the state.

While Wisconsin gained about 1,300 jobs from November to December last year, metro Milwaukee employment dropped to 810,600 from 813,300, according to preliminary government estimations.

Due to its low sample size, the data is subject to error and revision, according to the state Department of Workforce Development. It is considered the least trustworthy of any of the government-issued job reports, according to the government economists who prepare it. A mathematical model is often used to compensate for the lack of real data and possesses a significant margin of error, which the report does not provide.

your just flat our lying on this point. Walker has proposed no such tax increase.

Furthermore, shouldn't you be supporting a higher gas tax? Thats what your side always wants.
What side is that?

The side that is against responsible government - tax the people for additional spending.

Given that the news the Ausm links to is an Democratic media source and it does not even fully check the facts; that he echo's such is no surprise.

Wisconsin nets 1300 jobs; that means the losses in the greater MKE area are being offset and employment is stil increasing throughout the state.

One does not create jobs with the snap of a finger unless they are union do nothing jobs. Business needs to plan and budget and determine a need to create additional jobs that are real, not just on paper or vaper no shows.

Good but that's about 240,000 short of Scooters campaign promise.

NonPartisan?? Hardly my friend. ;) Care to back it up with any data?
