When will Dual-Core GPU's be available?

They're already here. Asus and Gigabyte (and possibly others) have dual core GPUs on the market.

I think Meridian meant two cores in a single GPU, not two separate GPUs with only one core each attached on the same graphic board...

Peace & ciao !!!

That's a dual GPU graphic card, not a Dual Core Gpu graphic card!!
Must GPU's are made up of quads, which are like mini-cores anyway, so possibly never.

I'm hoping ATI will start rolling out something comparable to the nVidia dual GPU cards soon. Depending on how long I can wait to build my next system (sometime before the end of the year) I'd love to have something with two X1900s or the next GPU on a single card!

The nVidia dual GPU solution is a great idea in my opinion but until more come out, there won't be much for cooling solutions or price benefits.

Dual core CPUs only came about because of the limits of ILP. Graphics processing is so inherently parallel that you can pretty much keep adding pipelines provided you have enough chip estate, so multicore designs aren't really needed.

I think before Dual-Core gpu's are viable, memory speed must increase at much greater intervals or the graphics subsystem will be bandwidth starved. What's the point in having dual X1900XTX's when the memory runs at 1600mhz? We need GDDR4 and other faster ram solutions to help out in those intensive AA/AF situations.
