I have tried everything ... the hacks ... the widcomm drivers ... WHEN IS MS GOING TO FIX THEIR OWN F***ING DRIVER????
I am sick and tired of this not working.

no offence to anyone but this is one of the reasons i stayed away from vista.....all it is right now is some nice eye candy🙁

What exactly is the nature of your bluetooth problem in vista? Not every bt adaptor manufacturer has released a vista driver for their adaptors. I shopped around before I bought one just to make sure that a vista driver was available for it.

MS removed the "profiles" from their Bluetooth drivers.
So after you install your bluetooth adapter (which works fine and even sees all bluetooth devices) you cannot connect to them because MS removed that functionality from the driver!
The whole purpose of bluetooth was that devices (e.g. headsets et al) do NOT need drivers!

It opens up vulnerability I bet, which is why they did it.

Then they should use their supid User Account functionality to confirm that I want to enable it.

Probably will have to go back to XP because of their screwed up drivers.

Actually, I think it's just that they suck. I know that even with XP, the default MS BT stack was garbage. It had very limited profile support. It got slightly better with Vista, but it's not nearly on the level of other stacks like the Widdcomm stack for example.
