Has there ever been a major video card launch that was as problematic as these, in terms of availability?
IIRC, the Voodoo2, TNT, TNT2, Voodoo3, GeForce, Voodoo4/5, GF2, GF3, Radeon, R8500, GF4, R9700, 5800U, R9800, 5900/5950, etc. were all readily available within a couple of weeks of the NDA breaking. This just seems ridiculous.
If either ATi or nVidia could get their cards into stores on a consistent basis, they'd be selling strongly, I'd think, since both are a LOT better than their respective predecessors. nVidia, in particular, could retake the aftermarket throne after being schooled for the last couple of years, if they could just get their cards into stores.
