When will 17" DVI LCD screens become mainstream?

Right now, it seems as though it costs an extra ~$85 to get a 17" LCD with DVI. Any ideas on when DVI will be a standard feature on all LCDs?

I think the question we should be asking is when will the prices of 21" lcds be coming down. I find getting a 17" lcd for $200 or $250 is common these days. 21inchers are at least $1100~$1200

How much are DVI Moniter these days? Good ones that is.... A 19" LCD DVI for $300-450 would sell like hotcakes. 😀

It will depend on the suppliers of the panels. Right now both 15" and 17" panels are facing shortage. However, 17" panels have better profit margin. Suppliers would rather sell 17" than 15". This should lead 17" to be mainstream somewhere middle 2004.

The DVI is another story. To be compatible with exist PCs, monitor suppliers still use D-Sub and major signals source. My personal guess would be early 2005.
