There are different opinions. Some people will tell you to only button the middle, some people will say to only button the top. If you want to play it safe button the top two leaving the bottom open. That's what I usually do anyway.

Never the bottom button of a suit. On a 3-button either top 2 or just top 1.

Depends on whether or not the lapel is rolled or not. If it is, then just the middle button. Otherwise, top two.

Follow this rule: sometimes, always, never.

Sometimes button the top, ALWAYS button the middle, never button the bottom.

Why never button the bottom? Unless you want to look like a box, I would definitely recommend you to steer clear.
