My wife had to run downtown today and was telling me how the homeless guys "help" her parallel park, expecting some money.

I was trying to think when the last time I had to parallel park was, and I really cant remember when it was, not even sure if I could pull it off anymore. I generally just find a spot where I can whip in going forward, then just straighten up a little.

yesterday. went to my grandparents shop and parking is a little tight there. in fact, ive had to parallel park at least 3 times in the past 5 days. no biggie though, its usually a one shot one kill kind of deal when i do it. spending enough time in a car and having to squeeze through tight spaces you get to know the angles and when to turn pretty well.

I was a natural the first time I tried it, and it was the only "A" I got in driver's ed. 15 years later, I'm horrible at it. Not woman-who-knocks-over-a-fire-hydrant-and-two-illegals bad, but about as bad as you can be and still pretend to be a straight male.

It's probably been a couple years, since I was in school. Even then it wasn't all that often but if I ever went to the library and it was after the time that students could park in employee spots, I'd sometimes have to parallel park.

Last weekend

The thing is, I find parallel parking very easy, almost like just pulling in front-end first. However I can't for my life do a rear-end in parking....I mean I can't do it in one shot, I'll usually have to correct myself

Never, only when I can pull through. In Chattanooga, there's usually a good place to park or I can ALWAYS pull through...

Today.

I do it practically every other day now.

[edit] Driving a (my) car seems like an extension of my body now. I know how it handles, how large it is, and where it is with respect to my environment. I can park within 2 inches of the front and back of my car if I wanted.

A new car takes an adjustment period (for me).

No clue, maybe a few years ago?

I had to do it on my driving test when I lived in GA, but now that I live back in FL I understand that it's not even on the test.

First time I had to parallel park was a year after I got my drivers license and was driving my new car..ended up side-swiping a car and only fvcking up my own car.

I've had to do it a few times after that, but honestly, I suck ass at it.....too scared i'm gonna fvck up my car again.
