When was the last time you watched VHS or Betamax?

I cant even remember but its was probably in the Navy, on board the ship. We had a video cassette player. So likely 1999 or 2000.
In 2010 my mother asked me to set up her VCR so she could watch a John Wayne film. But I didnt see it.

Summer 2019 or so. A bunch of my sister's long time friends got together and found a box full of videos they made when they were teenagers and were trying to figure out how they could watch them. I got called because I'm the techie. They had the beta player, but it only had RCA and S-Video outputs, and the TV they had was modern and only had HDMI inputs.

Luckily for them I have a small vintage video game collection which I like to be able to continue accessing, and so I brought over an XRGB-mini Framemeister, along with various cables and got it all hooked up. Stayed for a while since I knew most of everyone there and laughed at some of the videos.

Before that, I would say the weekend I bought my house which was Summer 2018. Still had no cable service or internet, but I had just stopped by a local TV repair shop and picked up a 24" Sharp CRT (as my existing CRT didn't survive the move to the house). The Sharp was a combo unit with a DVD+VHS player (the DVD was broken which was why it was sent into the shop in the first place, but it couldn't be fixed and the original owner simply sold it to the shop). As it was the only TV in the house, I pulled out my VHS releases of Star Wars and watched them (they are the only VHS tapes I still have). And before that, probably not since 1998 when I first got a DVD player.

Probably 20 years ago. After about 2000, I didn't have time for videos anyways, by the time I got back to stuff like that....dvds were all the rage, and then onto blu rays.

I don't know anyone with a vhs player or a beta max at all.

I moved on from VHS around 2010 with a DVD recorder. Then on to digital recording around 2014. But my Dad still likes to play VHS tapes.

The other day I watch ABOVE THE LAW (1988) on VHS

It was recorded from analogue cable in 1989 (HBO) and is goregous.......

I still have my VHS player, but is hasn't been used since 2000. My wife got rid of the tapes I had, and I stopped looking for tapes some time ago. I need to get rid of it...

My oldest teen son saw a combo DVD player/VCR at a thrift store and bought it, so we have watched a few VHS movies over the past year or two, projected up on the wall with an Epson projector.

Probably around 2007 when I finally got around to ripping a few VHS concert tapes that weren't ever released on DVD/Blu-Ray into my PC and DVD discs.

I still have a rack of VHS tapes. But I never watch them. I have a lot of vinyl. Never listen to them. Went to DVDs in 2000s. Not sure when that ended. I have about 500 DVDs. Don't really watch them. I went full digital quite a while ago. I had planned to rip all the discs to ISOs, but my server project was only half done when my wife passed in 2019. That changed things quite a bit.

TL;DR: I've gone full digital. No media needed. I use a Plex Server to send to all devices.
