When was the last time you used a tuning fork?

Anyone use them still?
With function generators available for free on a smart phone it seems that carrying around a case of (tuning forks) is almost silly.

With an external speaker of decent quality (amplified) this arrangement can probably do nearly everything a box of 'forks did/does. :biggrin:

That said I could use a 945 Hz 'fork.

It's a standard alert frequency although the alert tone is square wave to make it super penetrating.
