when was the last time you successfully completed an expert game of minesweeper?

lately i've just been having the worst luck. the closest i've come to winning has been with 8 mines left, but i'll always guess the wrong one. anyone want to share some kind of advanced strategy?

About an hour ago. Advanced strategy: play a lot. Avoid work and play instead.

When you're down to guessing, it's just a numbers game - the more you play, the more chances you have to win. Congrats for getting that close - THAT takes skill.
 
I used to play it a lot when I worked helpdesk. It was something I could easily do while on the phone w/o taking much concentration. That said, it's been a few years.
 
i had a friend in college that could complete expert in like 230 seconds.
it was amazing.
he has this game down to an art form

230? That's slow!!! I'm not even that good but I can complete expert on average in 160-170 seconds, and I'm willing to bet some people here can do it even quicker!

I've done it in around 90.
 
When I first started an office job, I beat minesweeper expert. I also beat Myst and Riven. Then it all got old...

Lunch break....I don't eat lunch or having anything to do, so I surf and play solitare/minesweeper. I was tempted to bring my laptop in and use it to play real games during lunch but I thought that was a little over the top.
