I see on the AMEX website they have the iconic Green card, but I don't remember seeing anyone with one in the last 10 years. I think the last time I saw one it was a business card.

I personally use Amex Gold. My company card is of the traditional green variety.

The benefits of their green AMEX card are not that great. I have had the Delta card and am now using their Blue Cash Preferred card, hard to beat 6% on groceries.

i hesitate to use my Amex. just in case the business doesn't accept it and there is that moment of awkwardness.

I checked AMEX guards out a few years ago, think the green one is the charge card and is the only one I found without an annual fee. The only person I've ever seen use a charge card is a contract employee at work -- she was Chinese and I think daddy was quite loaded back home (race not important, loaded daddy from China able to send child to study in foreign country and work/live in it is).

Pretty rare, usually it's Amex CostCo or Amex BCE.

I don't understand why people use those two cards when the Fidelity Amex is a flat 2% cash back on everything. the Costco Amex is an extra 1% on Costco gas and the Blue is an extra 1% at supermarkets, but both are only 1% in other categories. If you have a big family and shop mostly at supermarkets or drive a LOT, I could see the benefit of the extra 1%, but I buy 90% of my food products at Costco and the extra 1% off on gas would save me about $20 a year. I'd rather not have to carry around the extra plastic and not save the $20 a year. The maximum gas benefit is $40 over the Fidelity Amex.

Is Trader Joe's categorized as a supermarket?

Why did it take you so long to switch? The rewards aren't that great compared to other Amex cards and there is an annual fee.

Why would it be awkward? You can also just ask if they take Amex before you hand over the card. If it is a better reward you're losing out by not using it but carrying it around.

When My 3% Subaru card is discontinued at the end of Sept I'm switching to my United Airlines Visa and Fidelity Amex.

Costco Amex is the only CC that works at Costco and not everyone has a fidelity account. Have u ever shopped at a Costco before?

was putting together a purchase at work and was working with the owner on how the best way to pay for it. He says "I can just put it on my card, I don't have a lmit". I look down and of course its an Amex Black card.

Fucker.

Costco accepts all Amex cards. I use my Fidelity Amex all of the time.

The fidelity money market account is free and you don't need a brokerage account to get the Amex. My sister has only the Money Market account and the Amex.

I had one a couple years ago, at least for the free year... cancelled it after the free year, since for the price, I can just get a Costco membership/free amex.

I only use it at Costco, though. I use my Amazon visa for all online purchases and my United visa for in-person purchases.
