When was the last time you read a book?

I lead a pretty active lifestyle outside of just computers (and Anandtech). I'm college-educated, consider myself a smart person, yet, I haven't read a book (for pleasure) in maybe 3 years! Magazines, sure. Stuff online, esp. on Anandtech, definitely, but a good ol' paperback or hardcover book... not in a long time.

Last week. " The Difference between God and Larry Ellison*

*Is that God doesn't think he's Larry Ellison"

I can't remember the last time I wasn't reading a book. I generally have about 5 or 6 that I attempt to assimilate. Most of them are non-fiction books, but I'm working to read books that are more relaxing as opposed to intellectually taxing.

I just don't find books entertaining... last I read one was in my speed reading class in high school... yes, we had a speed reading class, lol.

I just finished a couple fictional novels and am currently working on Ty Cobb's biography and A Brief History of the Civil War.

I've been a very avid reader as long as I can remember. I used to sneak flashlights into my room as a kid so I could stay up past my official bedtime to read.

I used to read continuously, but now it's more of a spurt thing. Mostly happens over the summer, as during the school year I'm stuck studying for various classes. I'm working on The Fountainhead at the moment just to see what all the fuss is about.

i read on the bus to and from work

Doesn't that give you a headache? I can't read in a moving vehicle.
I read everyday on the bus/subway to work. Doesn't bother me. I've heard of people getting nauseated by reading in a moving vehicle, but never headaches...weird.

I'm constantly reading. I think I've read books pretty much every day of my life for the past 10 years. On the way to work, from work, on the weekends, and before I go to bed mostly. My parents have been shipping my books from New Orleans to NY, a medium sized box aevery 2 weeks or so, since I've moved up here almost 6 months ago...I have a lot of books!

At certain times in my life I've read more than 50 books a year ( I read rather slowly or it'd be more )

I look forward to having a stable profession and teenage kids so I can get back to my first love, books.

I've only been able to cram in about 20 a year for the last five years and the list of what I want to get through keeps getting longer 🙁

I read Terminal Man at the beginning of this week. I'm also in the process of reading Two Towers for about the 10th time as well as struggling through the Silmarillion. Oh, and I'm also reading Absolom, Absolom!

Used to read constantly ... ussually 3 or 4 books at a time. Flashlight under the coveres, books under the desk or inside the textbook at school. I've slowed down alot since college ... job, wife, kids, building a house, etc., but my reading has become much more diversified ... less sci-fi & technology, more non-fiction, history, "literature", etc. Probably about 1/month now. Maybe a bit less in the summer.

i read this morning, i always have a novel going, on busy days i tend to only read like 20-30 pages, on easy day i ready more like 50-100

I just finished reading Debt of Honor by Tom Clancy about a month ago, the first book I have read for pleasure in a year or so. I am a college student so unless there are no classes going on I just don't have the time to read much more than what is required for courses.

I'm a book junkie, but since I got married and I've been working full-time for years, I don't have as much time to read. I still try to squeeze in some time before I go to bed, and I usually spend several hours reading on the weekends if possible.

Right now, I'm finishing up Cavern of Black Ice (fantasy) in preparation for the sequel coming out in August, then I've got several other books (that I own and am re-reading) I'm midway through but put aside to read my library books.

I just finished Circle of Friends and now I'm reading Tara Road. They're my boyfriend's mother's books.
