I stopped after an update I downloaded caused my Win2K to be slower than hell shutting down. I deleted that update and haven't been back.

Windows Update? What's that? ;)

I generally let it go until something goes wrong. Then I try WU, but its generally just security stuff that's not going to fix my issue neway. With my nforce2 I haven't felt the need to do it at all :)

Did MS ever fix that patch that caused systems with Nortons's's AV to slow to a crawl?

About every 3 months or so. That way they have all those minor updates combined into one small convenient package to download. I'd rather download one 5 MB file than twenty 1 MB files (modem).

I thought Microsoft got everying thing right the first time :D. No need for Updates, you mean Mr. Gates get things wrong?
