How often, if ever do you clean your computer out?

I mean really clean it like strip it down and clean all the components, fans and the interior?

I was working on a friends computer, his wife keeps an immaculate house but the computer inside was dirty as hell, I have told him before that he needs to check it at least every 6 months and blow out the dirt, dust and crap inside but apparently he has not, reminded me that mine was due.

I try to maintain it on a regular basis and about every 8 months strip it down, clean out the inside and replace the thermal paste, change the water cooling tubing, flush and refill the system.

Just wondering if anyone else has a regular maintenance routine.

Usually once per month. We live in farm country and it's dusty as hell here. If I don't clean it at least every 2 months, the fans get covered in fuzz and the temps start to go up quickly. It's a PITA, but a necessary chore.

About every month-month and a half I will take it outside spray canned air through it and wipe it down. It use to be every other week but now I've got other hobbies that I enjoy more right now. I'd rather go bicycle riding or ride my motorcycle than constantly clean, tweak, my rig.

If I open it up to change something, and start choking... I might bring it out to the garage and blow it off. Depends how lazy I'm feeling. Otherwise i might just blow on it. (human blow, not air compressor)

I peek in there every couple months to see if the heat sink, vents, or fans have too much cat hair on them. That's about it.

I can't recall, but I do it sometimes. Not very often though, maybe once every 3 months or so. Oh and I never strip it down to barebone parts and then every single piece... Way too much work. I don't replace the TIM either(The TIM works fantastically so why replace it? Arctic Silver 5)... I don't have water cooling so no need to do that shit... I just use an air compressor and blast the thing. Works just as good as it did before... :/

I just moved my main pc into an HTPC case the day before yesterday and took the opportunity to blow all the dust out of the components. It had been around 8 months since my last cleaning.

Think it's been since summer when I was still living at my parent's. I brought out on the deck with the air compressor and just went at it. I'm probably due for another cleaning, my house is still very dusty from the construction and what not. I'll dust one day and there's tons more dust the day after. I can just imagine the computer.

I'm scared to check my servers, they're in the basement and there's lot of drywall dust still floating around from demolishing pretty much everything down there.

Whenever the fan starts making grinding noises and the dvd will not eject without bringing part of the cats fur.

No reason to strip it down. Blew out the dust a couple months ago though.
