I started a thread previously in regards to my keyboards' keys being kinda sticky. Meaning, they aren't as SOFT as they once were when I originally purchased the keyboard. My keyboard in question is the Microsoft Natural Elite keyboard.

Anyways, how often have you purchased a new keyboard? I recently got another job and since then I decided to take it upon myself to pick up a new keyboard for $20.00. It is the same type of keyboard I have just with softer keys. I dislike the hard feel of the keys. I thoroughly enjoy the feel of soft keys.

How about you?

About four years ago in September. My MS Natural Pro keyboard was on sale for cheap at best buy and I haven't gone back. I'm not looking forward to the day when I have to replace it.

I never chaged my keyboard before. I replaced my stock Compaq KB with a Microsoft normal KB and then a Microsoft Natural. I use the Nat on the main rig and the normal on my rig

I have a Natural Keyboard Pro and am never going to change until a new one comes out that is ergonomic, has USB connectors on it, is wired, and has the various control buttons on it. Black would be nice too - I don't know why there is only one black ergonomic wired keyboard out there (and it looks ghetto).

Going on four years with my MS Natural Pro. Before that I had a MS Natural keyboard for a few years and before that I had a generic Compaq keyboard that came with my Compaq.

Got this keyboard in september. Logitech mx DUO. I loved mmy old MS keyboard, (it was awesome) but you can't beat wireless.

Did you ever see the logitech commercial with the woman and the MX duo? bery accurate.

Do any of you notice that your keys become less soft over time? Doesn't that bother some of you? Or am I the only anal retentive member?

The reason I changed was because the old keyboard became less sensative and I could push a key and sometimes it wouldn't register it. I don't type very fast either so I went ahead and changed them out. I got an IBM sk-8811 model. In some ways I like it because I can hear the keys click when I press them, but it has a short keyboard layout that isn't as attractive. I got the keyboard and mouse on a deal at staples so it isn't to bad.

I was just about to ask this questions. I've had my Logitech Internet Keyboard for a year or so and the keys are really starting to bug me. They used to be soft and quiet before but now they are louder and you need more force to type. It also screws up my typing sometimes :(

These logitechs are not that cheap though so replacing them will be $$, is it just because the keyboard is dirty? Hrmm...

Hmm ... I bought my current keyboard in 1996. However, in 2003 I moved around the keys and then used windows 2k software keyboard mapping to make it into a DVORAK layout. It's great. Also, I haven't lost my proficiency on a qwerty keyboard either ... as I have qwerty on other boxes of mine, and at work.

why would u want to use DVORAK layout????

This keyboard is about a month old. It's a Microsoft Natural Multimedia one and I don't think I'll ever go back to a straight keyboard again. I love this thing. I too do notice how keyboards become broken in and I can't stand it especially when my mom uses the keyboard because she pounds on the sucker.

I love soft keyboards. I can type so much quicker with them without all the annoying noise. I love the Dell quietkeyboard my bro got with his new Dimension. Shoulda ordered an extra when I had the chance.

Why did I switch to a Dvorak layout?

It seemed like a good idea at the time.
I like my Dvorak layout. I was bored one day so I switched it just to try it out and see how it was.
0. I can type about the same speed either way. (though I am still slowly gaining speed with Dvorak while I maxed out my qwerty speed back in the mid 90s ... so eventually, I will probably be quicker with Dvorak)
1. This is nice since nobody dares to even try to mess with my computer.
2. There is less stress in my hands as I don't nearly have to move my hands around as much as on a qwerty Keyboard.

one other point ... its not why I do use it ... but it is one of the reasons why I have need to go back to QWERTY
If there ever is a problem where software I am using doesn't get along with Dvorak (ie .. games that are used to "WADS" rather than "<AOE" ... a quick Alt-Shift brings me back to qwerty mapping so I don't have to reconfigure the whole game's controls, this hoppens with about 15% of the games I install)


Here are a few better questions ...
Why do some people use MSIE when Mozilla is around?
Why do some people run server software on windows?
Why do some people still use aol?
Why do some people still use mouses with balls?
Why do some people think a Geforce FX5200 is faster than a GF4 TI4200?
Why do some people call their computer the hard drive?
Why do some people call their computer the modem?

I find these to be much more interesting questions ... as seemingly there is no possible logical answer to any of them.
