Ok, every time I use speedfan Temp#3 seems to always be 69-71C with the burning icon. Everything else seems fine...

Can someone tell me how i can find out which component in my PC that is?

Heres what Speedfan says:

Temp1: 25C
Temp2: 25C
Temp3: 69C
Temp: 1C
Local: 33C
Remote: 38C
HD0: 40C
Core: 37C

Edit: I forgot, specs:

A64 3200+ Venice (most likely to be?)
1 gig ram
Geforce 6800 GS (The temperature is not it, its at a stable 42C in nvidia menu)
200 gig HD

It may be a bad or malfunctioning sensor, though it's difficult to tell without knowing more about your system. Do you get any temperature readings in your BIOS? If your Athlon64 is at 69C, something is seriously wrong. My Temp 3 is some kind of faulty/nonexistant sensor that returns a constant temp of 127C (heehee). Temp1 should be your CPU.

Are you sure Temp1 is the CPU?

I just tried running a couple of programs like prime 95 which made the CPU go to 100% fo about 5 min and the temp stayed at 25C while others increased

Biggest change was "core" going from 37C to 47C

If you register your Speedfan on their website, you can download a configuration file for your particular mainboard model. That will identify the temps as Core, CPU, motherboard, HDD.

speedfan can def give high false readings. I remember it would always tell me my hardrive was at 200+C!!

what version of speedfan works with the p5b deluxe? i couldnt seen to get the 4.29 version working at all. Any tutorials on what sensors do what on the p5b would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I just the latest 4.31 version and it seems to work great with my p5b. temps seem very similiar to TAT and coreTemp

Temp1 is the CPU on my system, but I'm using an older machine. In your case, Core may be your CPU temperature. You might want to try what dennilfloss suggested.
