When using RAID 0 should both drives be the same size?

NO both drives dont have to be the same size, but you will lose(not be able to use) the space left on teh bigger drive.

For example.

2 20gb drive = 40gb raid
1 20gb drive and 1 30gb drive = 40gb raid

Raid 0 (srtiping) requires that the raided area be the same size on both drives. It will ignore the larger amount of space on any larger drive.

You can only use twice the amount of the smaller drive.

You should be able to create another partition to use the remaining space though. The remaining partition just won't be a striped partition.
