When unlocking your Athlon XP, put the tape between the bridges first!

Now that I unlocked my Duron 700 (I think), next to try my Athlon XP 1700+...
With the Duron 700 I know I could have just used the pencil trick on the duron but I need the practice for unlocking my xp, so I painted the bridges with the rear window defogger repair kit paint. It's basically the same method as on Tom's hardware but I'm using the much much cheaper ($170.00ish cheaper) method of using the defogger repair kit paint.
What a nightmare. Apparently I didn't read, or it's not there, that I should lay the tape that goes between the bridges down first.
I tried doing this with laying the tape that goes on top of and on the bottom of all the bridges first. Baaaad move. It would leak and the bridges would make contact. Had to take an alcohol pad and clean the processor off. Thought that wasn't going to work so I tried painting the bridges with a pin. Got close a few times but one bridge would be making contact with another. Finally I went back to trying it with the tape, this time I put it between the bridges first. It worked like a charm!

I put it on my A7V266-E that I got today and I can run it between 5x (500mhz) and 8x (800mhz). Anything more than 800 and the cpu won't boot. Guess this cpu wasn't a real overclocker.
So anyways a warning to anyone unlocking their cpu. PLACE THE TAPE BETWEEN THE BRIDGES FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now just waiting for Newegg to ship my Athlon XP that I ordered Sunday night. Guess I'll be running that duron this weekend. Thing probably runs faster at 800mhz than my p3 runs at 933mhz anyways. :)
