when udma is enabled my cdrom drive disappears

Two of my cdrom drives supposedly support udma; however, when I enable this in the bios, the drives won't show up in windows? Any advice on how I can possibly fix this? My motherboard is an FIC AZ11. I'm hoping this is just a motherboard specific problem.

 
No, I don't have a soundblaster soundcard.

My specs:

FIC AZ11 mobo
4.37 via4in1 drivers
DVD drive
Liteon cdrw drive
Diamond Monster MX400 soundcard
 
I had this same problem with my SB card. Does your Diamond Monster MX400 offer any dos support? If it does disable all Legicy(sp) support under Device Mananger in windows. This is what I did and it fixed my problem. What happens is the Sound Card uses the same DMA channels that he CD Roms want to use. Let us know if this works. I will be back in about 2 hours, so I will check this thread then.
 
The legacy audio setting is present in device manager but there's no option to disable it; however, I have it disabled through bios.
