when to expect 7800 Ultra?

I have until dec 11th till my evga step-up expires. I'm relatively new to the scene so, I'm asking what may be a dumb question. Should I hang tight on my step-up for the 7800gtx 512 in anticipation of the Ultra? Or is that incredibly stupid for me to think because, even if they do release an ultra, it won't be till next year at the earliest?
Also, looking at the history of NVs cards, are ultra speeds something an OCer could potentially see out of the lesser card? I'm definately not a guy to spend more because of box cover clocks.
Thanks.

The 512 is the Ultra, dont' wait

Also, the 256 cant be clocked to 550-580mhz w/o a voltmod and the memory wont hit 1800mhz no matter what you do

From what the Inquirer has been saying, NVIDIA has ditched the "Ultra" moniker (at least for the moment), and the 7800GTX 512MB is, effectively, the "7800 Ultra". I doubt they would release another true "line" of cards in the next few months.

ok, I was thinking so. but I did read a review somewhere which anticipated even higher speeds from the ultra (because this was not labeled "Ultra"). Thanks though! I'm gonna submit that step-up now.
