I am considering to get a Xbox real soon, but I am wondering whether I should get a 2nd hand one tomorrow or wait until possible Black Friday sales? Anyone hear of any hot Xbox deals the day after Thanksgiving?
I kinda want to have the Xbox before Thanksgiving so I can get a party started and I actually would have time to play, but I don't know how much I could save for waiting.

Also, can anyone recommend an easy to install and relatively inexpensive Xbox mod chip solution?
I am not that comfortable with soldering nor would I want to bother with swapping a bunch of Linux boot disks or switches. I plan to play with import games from Taiwan and Japan.

Thanks!!

I'd have a hard time recommending buying a used Xbox... They have had significant problems with Cannot Read Disc errors.

Plus, it's pretty unlikely you'll find a much better deal than the current one... $150 w/a couple games.

Can you swing a new one now?

Actually I can... but I was just wondering whether it is possible to save on the hardware and get one or two additional games for the price difference.

How about the Gamestop refurbished models? Do they have the same types of problems?
