Since I tend to buy them infrequently...

I can't tell if I need a new mattress or not. I mean I lay on it and I sink down, but it's supposed to do that...

There some way to tell when it's time to pitch it and get a new?

And these things can't cost more than $20 or $30 to build...asshats charging hundreds of $$$ for them...

how about when you feel like getting a new one. It seems that if you are having to ask, you should just another one.

If you can afford to get a new one, get one.

If you can't afford a new one, and your bed is sinking, then get a mattress topper/pillow top :)

If you are a skinny light person,vs. >me,a fat person, your bed will last longer.

I bought a new Simmons quenn size firm bed about 6 years ago.

I am considering buying a new one. This one is starting to sag in the middle.

{Too many nights of use, ;)} LOL

My ex and I abused the bed when it was new,LOL. :)

I used to work at a mattress factory and we got to purchase the mix matched mattresses for cost. I got a top of the line (of said brand) $700 queen set for just under $200.

They do cost quite a bit more than your estimated $20-$30.

What sag? When no one is on it? When it's loaded in the middle?

Seems like they should all sag wherever you sleep...

Gt, thanks for the info. Just seems like I could go buy a bunch of springs and cloth and build one cheaply.
