I've been unusually busy and hadn't been able to get back into this thread. I see it has turned into a Craig fest as the infrequent threads I start sometimes do. I have to make a disclaimer for any that aren't aware - I have Craig on my ignore list. He's aware of it. I don't respond to his posts because of that. If anyone wishes to place blame on me for ignoring him, feel free. I hold his posts to be self-evident to paraphrase a rather famous document. When he is quoted his posts are of course visible to me.
To defend the actions of elected officials who conduct themselves in this manner, to condone this activity that is in some cases blatantly illegal, is further proof of the lengths the progressives will go to 'win'. It's proof of the corrupted mindset that the people of this country must be fully aware of and must overcome. And do not kid yourselves, it truly must be overcome. Only those who embrace the 'fundamental transformation of the United States of America' that candidate Obama loudly proclaimed can rest.
Fortunately the hard core progressives in this country are in the minority. But they have powerful backing, they have numerous representatives in Congress and they occupy the highest position in the land. Their convictions are strong - extremely so. They believe that their way is the only true and righteous way. That only their way of thinking is clear. The question is, to what lengths will they go to ensure their victory? The ballot box is one means, but the playbook is thick and varied.
Do not think it silly or crazy to be vigilant. There have been numerous powerful leaders in the history of this world. Certainly not all of them have been good. Good things often start small as do bad. Hundreds of millions of people have been exterminated for causes that seemed righteous at the time. Being vigilant and aware is nothing more than being prudent. Do not allow yourself to be mocked for those thoughts. It happens right here at P&N frequently - it's part of the playbook.
The majority of the people of this nation are centrists of one form or another. It's important for us to know who are true enemies are. We are not enemies because we label ourselves as Democrats, Republicans, Independents, liberals or conservatives. It's important for us to know that because we have a common enemy and one we must learn to work together to fight against. That enemy is the progressive movement. Remember that in November.
