Well, just recently these forums topped the 90,000 member mark. It's still a little while til we hit 100k, but I was just thinking about it, (it's not THAT far away). It seems appropriate that *something* should happen. I don't know what, exactly, it's hard to have a party when you have members spread throughout the globe ;), but I was curious, there's gotta be some sort of a celebration, right?

Like I said, I'm just kinda blobbing on, I really have no idea what I'm talking about, but if any of you have some ingenious idea of how to celebrate the largest (and best) forums on the web hitting 6 digits, post em here! :)

Delete every account that's been inactive for a year and search and destroy all double accounts. That way we'll be back down to the actual 800 users and 20 lurkers.

they should clean out the database of the 80,000 users with less than 10 total posts, and no activity for over 6 months.

I'm thinking we could make up a lot of pointless threads about hitting 100,000 just so everyone can nef some more.

We'll all turn off our computers go outside and pretend we're normal for a while, instead of planning parties for forum membership numbers.

I know I have an extra account I signed up for initially so you're gonna have to hit 100k + 1. ;)

I'd like to know the real number of active members, no way that's even a significant percentage of 90k.

It?s good to know that you can take a break from the forums and come back without having to start all over again.

We should all go out with flyers advertising anandtech forums. See how many new users we could get. 100,000 users would be a marketing tool.

or NOT. stupid forums cost money to be usable.

but it was still a good idea. :p
