I hate to look at either, so I voted the third option... I dont like people observing me, and when Im talking and someone looks at my eyes I feel unconfortable because I always think they are studying me

Usually I just look at the ground and look at their face 2 or 3 seconds, look at something on the background, look at face, etc

(if its a hot chick - face = boobs :p)

I look at the mouth, it helps me understand what they're saying. Plus if I look at their eyes, I tend to shift back and forth between eyes and it makes me uncomfortable.

I had this discussion with a lady friend of mine many years ago, and when I said mouth, she stood there for a second, then rushed to the bathroom saying she needed to brush her teeth. :p

eyes.

specifically their left eye. i got annoyed switching back and forth so i taught myself to stare only at that eye. it gets difficult when the person has a lazy left eye and i have to concentrate on their right eye.

At a time when I was more introverted, I rarely looked into anyones' eyes when I talked to them. I would look at their mouth, or something behind them, or something else.

When I started looking into peoples' eyes when I talk to them (or when they talk to me), they were more receptive to me. It's like you instantly build this connection with them, like you are interested in what they have to say. Now I've gotten to the point where I will look into a person's eyes for a longer time than they look into mine. They would avert their eyes before I would. I hope I don't come off as arrogant, but I look into the eyes for that connection.
