When someone is talking do you look them in the eye or at thier mouth?

Im just sitting here thinking on this because all my life I have never looked at someone in the eyes as they were talking but looking at thier mouth as they talk. Because of that Im pretty good at reading lips and can tell what someone is saying without actually hearing them but wondering if I am the only one that does this.

eyes, unless, you know, like you have in that 3rd option, there are "mitigating" circumstances, but that freaks chicks out, so i stick with the eyes

eyes tell a lot about someone anyway

Eyes and mouth, interchange. (mainly because after working in a manufacturing plant for half a year when I was in school, my hearing is somewhat bad) So I will read lips if I can't hear the person well. If it is a one on one conversation though, I usually look at the eyes. It shows sincerity. :)

Both. It depends. Some people speak very clearly, which allows me to look them in the eye, some people can't talk worth shi[/i]t so I have to look at their mouths. I've got a hearing problem, kind of.. Not deaf, but a lot of fluid that keeps coming back which makes all sound 'warped' and sometimes makes me completely deaf. Hopefully I'll be cured someday, so I too can have the luxury of staring at a girls breasts when she's talking (to me or to who/whatever).

boobs, then eyes, then mouth.. but i think that is most of us. BUT in a workplace... just stick to the eyes.

Used to be eyes, then my ex wife said she always looks at peoples mouths, which I found odd at the time, but also I was compelled to do it from then on.

Both. Never looking into the eyes is a sign of shyness, weakness, etc. Staring at the eyes only is just plain rude. Look at the face, look at the eyes, look at the mouth. Move around a bit and be active. But mostly, focus on the eyes.

I must look at others eyes also, being I am somewhat deaf. (HUH?)
Though I do try to alternate with as much eye contact as possible.

looking someone in the eye is a sign of confidence and integrity. with that said sometimes its easier to look at the space between there eyes or switch from one eye to the other if you feel uncomfortable and need to change it up.

Well seeing some of the replies Im wierd(er) then most it seems. But it does seem to be that I too have a hard time hearing and always have so I am with waggy. I read lips because I cant hear but when a good rack is sticking out I have a really hard time keeping my eyes on the mouth and am usually cought peeking, ok starring, but I ccant help it. You didnt put that dental floss see-through bra on thinking I wouldnt look did you?

I used to to always look at the mouth, then I relaized I should be looking at eyes, So Now I try to look at eyes, but if I am in a loud place like a bar or concert, I will mostly look at mouth.
