When should we expect the next wave of Centrinos?

Most of the majors, IBM, Dell, Toshiba, et al released their base models between February and March of '03. I am wondering when we should expect the next wave or updated version of some of the models? I guess the obvious conclusion would be Feb/Mar. '04. The holiday season is approaching, maybe someone will surprise.

I've been so hesistant to buy because I've yet to find a company to have a laptop with all my desires. The worse would be to scale back on wants then to turn around three months later and that very model is on the market. I am really interested to see what Dell with do with the Latitude, Acer TM 800 series, and HP/Compaq x1000 series or nc8000. Wondering how battery life will extend, if at all.
 
For next year, Centrino will get:

Updated Pentium M called "Dothan", featuring some minor improvements, a 2 MB L2 cache, and 0.09u manufacturing process.

802.11g support.

I'd wait until Mar '04 if possible 🙂
 
I figured I'd needed to wait that long. Since I am not someone who likes to replace my electronics every quarter, I want to get the best of the best that will last over a fair amount of time.
 
damn I guess I am waiting too..... oh well it will probably take that long for me to save up the money anyways
 
I wish lappys were as easier to put together. My dream laptop is a combination of features I've yet to find in one system.

Honestly, my combination would be the size, weight and casing of the Apple 17" Powerbook including all of its I/O devices in addition to a smartcard reader, the Compaq/HP touchpad, with a 15.4 WUXGA, and 64/128 mb video card. Dual boot of Linux and XPPro and I'm happy!
 
LOL, I know, I know. It's not highly impossible. The Powerbook only lacks the screen rez, and sc reader; I don't feel myself being ready to leave M$ and venture into the Mac world. I just cannot understand why Apple can create these thing notebooks packed with features (minus the screen rez and sc reader) and the PC world cannot create a complimentary product.
 
i agree with you ceo, the powerbooks really do look awesome. the laptop that eventually steered me from the dark side was the sharp mm10. i dont have it yet, but ive played with one a lot and hopefully ill get one this xmas. im kind of hesitant though. im hoping they're release a new version [mm100?] with a faster processor and more hd space. id like to see if they could fit a centrino in there.

you should check the specs on it though, its a damn cool laptop.
