When should last gen smartphone prices go down?

Now that the iPhone is out, when do retailers typically slash last gen handset prices? I'm on straight talk so used unlocked gsm or used ATT handsets and am eyeing a GS 2 or Galaxy Nexus and assumed the ebay would be overloaded with people looking to upgrade but that's not quite the case.

People will not change the price they charge just because a new iPhone came out. Most people will keep it at the same price

Locally, I remember the time when 4S came out at like around $500 and the original 4 dropped to like $450, which means I have to be really out of my mind to even consider the 4.

Some are still asking $350 for the iPhone 4 on CL. Others want to get rid of their 4 ASAP and get the 5 so they will sell for $200. Most people on CL have no idea on pricing and it's all low ball offers.

As for the Gs 2 it dropped when the gs3 came out. Tmobile is selling it for their prepaid service brand new for $300. Straight talk is also releasing it too for their prepaid service or might soon.
