When should I upgrade my computer?(with specs)

Processor-intel Pentium 4 2.6C
Video Card-Radeon 9800
MOBO-ASUS P4P800 Deluxe
RAM-1 gig ddr400 ddrram(not dualchanneled)
soundcard-SB audigy
harddrive-120 gig SATA samsung

and im looking for reasonable upgrades(like a few hundred or something, but nothing like 500 a piece)

Almost the same thing as what I have now except I have a Nvidia 5900 but almost the same otherwise. I am getting ready to build a whole new PC, probably not worth it for you. I think you would be better off just building a whole new PC with an AMD processor, if you aren't ready just yet to build a whole new PC then just hold off, that machine is still good enough for while.

looks like you wont need to upgrade for a while. if you find a game that wont work at low settings, or so low it doesnt look good, then just upgrade the entire thing. that should be at least a year down the road. maybe more.

K sweet, so as long as I have a little better then required, dont upgrade?

and when that day comes just upgrade the whole thing?

Yep. That's what I'm waiting for. So far nothing has choked my system to the point of needing an upgrade. Plus I'm waiting for the dust to settle on the new standards like PCIE, BTX all that new stuff. I will probably go with a dual core AMD tho.
