so far i have a maxtor ultra 16, an audigy 2zs platinum, plextor 716a and and NEC 3520. for my case i am going to get the thermaltake Viking because of the window and the dual 12cm fan with control. and for a psu, probably antec neopower or trueblue 2. However i am still in need of everything else. i am getting a X800XL, DFI Lanparty Ultra-D, Venice 3500+, and either ocz platinum or partiot RAM. When would be a good time to buy them? maybe i will get the X800XL for 260 from Compusa during the father's day 10% off sale and the ocz ram from newegg for its rebate.

If you want the system now, buy the parts now. If you don't need it now, then don't buy it now - but that seems contradictory, since you've already started to buy some of it.

my deadline is maybe mid-July, however is it better to wait for prices to maybe drop or maybe go up, or to pounce on certain deals like the ram and the video card?

If you need the system, or want it.. GET IT.. In the PC world you CAN and will wait FOREVER.. there is always something better, and newer..

Go for it now, you will be happy.

People might say WAIT something new soon come out. But something new comes out ANYwayz.
So just buy it and enjoy IT, while it lasts :) j/k

Harddrives just took another dive in price, 160 gigs are $80 accordding to newegg.
They were $90 last week.

Ram's hitting an all time low.

Videocards.... are something i'd wait on. (with the next gen Geforces coming out soon to move prices around)

Motherboards are constantly trickling down, when crossifre comes out i see a price change in effect.
