Hi...
I just installed a new Dell PC to host some apps in the office (Database type) on a peer to peer network...In watching the processor loading in Sys Monitor when I run apps straight from the server the CPU load is normal as is everything else. But whenever I run the apps (via a shortcut) over the network from another PC the CPU on this new "server" runs upto a constant 75% or so and doesnt go down even if I close out the app (and it doesnt show in the close program dialog)...This doesnt happen on our old PC we ran the apps from and I cant figure out why...Everything becomes sluggish after you run the first app remotely...I rebooted and the PC came up normal, then used network neighborhood from another PC to get to winzip on the server drive, ran it (to make sure it wasnt somethign unique to the database app) and the same thing happens...
Help!!!...any ideas appreciated on what might be misconfigured
All machines are running Win98SE
Thanks
Steve
