when overclocking should i leave vertical sync on or off?

If you can constantly get the max fps, vsync is good, since it prevents tearing of the textures. If not, it slows down, because it'll half the framerate to keep it synced. Never have vsync on when benchmarking, but it's up to you visually to keep it on when gaming. Some games have horrible texture tearing without it on, so I'll keep it on for those.
