Not switching to HD, switching to digital (ATSC, no NTSC). If you don't get your TV from an antenna, you don't need to worry about it.

There will be a lot of pissed off people on 2/17/09, that's for sure. I noticed that the digital broadcasts don't seem to handle poor reception nearly as well as an analog broadcast does, and you end up with a pixelated studdering mess of a picture if you don't have at least 50% signal strength.

In my area, I can currently get about 6 analog VHF and UHF stations with an antenna, 4 of them with a picture and sound clear enough to watch. I can also get 5 digital stations to show up on the station list, but none of those are strong enough to hold a steady picture :(

If your cable is digital, then you have a digital cable box. Most of your digital cable channels probably aren't digital though.

Oh snap! And I just canceled my basic and extended cable.

Will my TV explode and I DIAF next year?

High speed internet only.... damn gas prices and stupid Time Warner raising prices every few billing cycles. *shake fist* I am taking a stand now!
