When is the P4 Endless-wait Edition released?

The P4 EE looks to be starting at a price of around $800.
It would probably be better to buy 2 P4 2.4 GHz cpus. 🙁

2.8ghz(maybe 2.6?) P4s and up will have 1mb L2 from here on out at the same price, better off with that most likely

its being sold since monday. anyways, someon posted that intel never intended for this to be mass produced. it was created just to take away some thunda from amd's 64 bit cpu. expext this to be rare chip. and i believe him. he's right.

Why would you say that? you can get one in a Dell, Gateway, Alienware and many others.

they don't expect to see much since they have priced it 200-300 premieum over the fx 51. i don't think their yields are high enough to churn em out. ie, defective cache, out of 2.5+mb cache, all you need is a little defect and you can't sell it as a EE.

There is no way this chip was ever intended to be a volume seller. It uses something like triple the transistors of the regular Northwood P4. It is just a way to deflect attention off the 64-bit AMD chips. Pricing it at $800 in today's market just proves that this chip is not for the mainstream, only the extremely-well-off PC builder or hardware enthusiast (or people who are just plain nuts 😉 ).
