When is the next 7800GT coming out?

I want to go to PCI-E and I'm looking to jump in at the 300 dollar pricepoint. I have a 2405 and I want to be able to run it at native. I'm wondering when the next 7800GT-type card is coming out, any word? I'm thinking the GT wont be enough to really run my monitor

If you're waiting for something significantly faster than a 7800GT that costs ~$300, it could be a while.

The 7800GTX/X1800XT may hit that pricepoint later this year, especially if you are willing to buy used/refurb. Beyond that, your hopes would be either a cut-down X1900 (an X1900XL, for instance), or a cut-down GF7900 of some sort -- both of which are pure speculation at this point.

That depends on the game. HL2 would run just fine, FEAR and COD2 will be a chopfest (unless you turn down some other settings)

Take 1600x1200 results and knock off ~20% from the framerates for a rough estimate. Not great on the newest crop of games.

Are you sure you are not playing in DX8.1 mode?

Oh not with AA and AF...I'm just at native with minimal other options.
