When is the 3500+ San Diego coming out!?!?!

Uhmm... the 3700 is the 3500 sandiego. 3500-2.2ghz, 512k cache, 3700 - 2.2ghz, 1mb cache.

Unless you meant the 3200, which I have no idea.

There will be a 3500+ San Diego, but it probabaly won't come out as long as sales of the 3700's and 4000's are strong. I'm pretty sure it will be an OEM chip ADA3500DAA4BN and will have half of the cache disabled, thus only 512k cache and it will run at 2.2ghz like the other 3500's. Ala Clawhammer 3500+

San Diego is used to fill the model numbers missing. That is, 3700+,3800+, and so on... for skt 939

Won't that just be exactly like the 3500+ Venice?

SanDiego 3500+ runs at the same default clock speed of a Venice 3200+, but has 2 X the L2 cache amount (1MB L2 cache).

Just get a 3000. I don't understand buying these sand deigos. 130% more money for maybe 2% more performance when clocked same? Someone explain that to me?

If you're really a "DfiDude" your capable DFI motherboard will turn 3000 pyrite into FX++ gold.

I havnt really read about a 3500+ SD but wouldnt a 3500+ SD run @ 2ghz with 1MB cache? If indeed it does and not just 2.2ghz with half cache disabled, it would be a monster of a chip for a nice price.

LOL, i see what you mean Zebo, so i guess ill go with the 3200+. Thanks for the response guys 🙂

the 3200 has a nice multiplier and is a happy medium ... Nice ram and HTT options.

Worth $50 xtra? That's 33% more money you're talking about...Not to me but I can understand paying it for the flexibility.

I have a hard time buying any other chip than lowest in iteration because the value is soooo poor. Now with the X2 I'll pay xtra for 4400 since it's only like 5% over 4200 but getting 1mb cache x 2 which should equate to it's 5% price premium when both clocked same..

It's really a shame they don't have San Deigos at 1800Mhz for $160. Call them 3100 or something. That would be a decent chip to OC with.

Ya, would be nice to have the full 1MB..

Or have two 3200+..

One @ 1.8 with the full MB and one @ 2ghz...

Performance should be relatively close..

Here's a forum post I found on AMD.com.
It mentions a 2.0GHz 3500+ SD, and also a 1.6GHz 2800+ Venice. I'm not sure about the reliability of this post, however, because the user hasn't posted any links to back any of this up, but claims to have researched it.
Take it as you will.
