Ok, probably going to get flamed cuz its probably common knowledge now, but when is the Nforce supposed to be acutally being sold on motherboards? I searched all over Nvidia's site, nothing, just more eye-watering, mouth-dropping specs and features. SO ne way, does anyone know anything about WHEN?
thnx-

Well, if you go to MSI's website you will see that they are advertising it. They have some details about it.

I heard November. I still wonder about the cost of a Nforce chipset board. 201 posts!

if it hits in November then it's pointless to even buy it with nforce 17/18 hitting mass production in June. better just get a cheap sis instead IMO and wait for nforce 2

It's pretty sucky of them to make this big presentation & push this shipset and then all of a sudden "oh sorry, delays" ...

SiS is looking pretty good to me too.. especially since it sounds like it could be much cheaper!

if you're talking about the bottom right picture, that looks like a card to connect up the nforce's built in sound

hm
i thought that before i saw the "center/LFE" label too :)

i want nforce because of supposed better performance, and their sound solution looks better than sblive..

Those round things would the the sound jacks. Ooh la la! It appears to be on a riser daughtercard though. Hard to tell from the pics.

The interesting theing from the article is that they are getting an OEM board. I know that MSI and ASUS have boards in the works, but I hadn't heard any OEM deals before. Interesting.

Silly? The nForce will change the known universe and none of us will look each other in the eye the same way again.
