When is NVidia going to release new NForce2 drivers?

What's happening? They update every month the detonators but they don't update NForce 2 drivers. They should treat better Nforce users.

If I recall, people had problems with the highest revision number and Nvidia reverted the official version to an earlier number.

Yup, but I never had a problem with 2.41 UDA.

I've heard as early as tomorrow, but don't hold your breath :)

Fortunately for me, I used System Restore to create a restore point before installing the 2.4x drivers - I was able to undo the serious problems that resulted, only by booting to Safe Mode no less.
Some new drivers, with a working IDE driver install process would be nice.

Just download the drivers straight from Nvidia...worked for me until the Asus blew.

EDIT: It blew due to a BIOS issue that is relatively common with the 1.04 rev of the A7N8X Deluxe.

What the heck; check out the list of drivers:
Audio driver 3.48 (WHQL)
Audio utilities 3.48
Ethernet driver 3.13 (WHQL)
GART driver 3.34 (WHQL)
Memory controller driver 3.38 (WHQL)
SMBus driver 3.38 (WHQL)
Installer 3.56

No mention of ANY kind of IDE drivers whatsoever. Did they just give up on them completely, or are they (still) rewriting them from scratch?

What's everyone's thoughts on these drivers? Have they screwed up anyone's systems, or are they actually a good download?

Jeff7, they are going to be releasing new, highly acclaimed IDE drivers in a short time period. I am talking with some NV beta testers who have them and they are what we are all waiting for. I can't wait to get ahold of them.

This seems to mainly be a release for the audio portion. However, the site is getting hammered and I can't DL them from any of nVidia's mirrors.

If I get the file, or someone else does and gives it to me, I can host it...but until I get my hands on it, can't do a thing.

If you look at the Driver Versions you'll notice that the Audio Driver and Utilities are both updated (3.48), Ethernet stayed the same (3.13), GART was updated (3.34), Memory controller was updated (3.38), SMBus was updated (3.38), and the Display driver was updated (44.03). Lots of new stuff, just no new IDE driver.

Well, they are out but be careful. I uninstalled the previous drivers for my MSI based system. Then installed the new drivers and the system won't boot. Says it can't load the NVATABUS.SYS file and hangs. I guess I will go through the boot from the CD and repair routine, copying that file from the NVidia fix. Noting from the chat here that the IDE part of the set is not included, it is probably something that the old driver removed during the uninstall and never removed from the windows driver load. The file is missing but I will hand copy it in from a floppy and hopefully that will fix it. I have heard of others with this problem but I would expect NVidia to do a better job of preventing this from happening. I have access to the resources and smarts needed to fix this problem, but others would be in a bind if they ran into this.
