this tour doesnt seem to be like the four previous tours. he hasnt done anything fantastic yet. maybe im just anxious.

so when's it gonna happen? when will the solo climbs occur? will they even occur? when will the 5 minute lead start?

Dont they start the big climbs today to tomorrow. That when Lance usually leaves the rest of the field in the dust. I could be wrong, but I haven't paid much attention to the Tour this year.

Anyway, GO LANCE!!!

I hope he can pull it off and win this year and next. Only a few people have won 5 total so I would like to see him win six.

Lance Armstrong is awesome, not only did he beat cancer while all his sponsors dropped him, he's still kicking ass in biking

did his sponsers really drop him? That's f*ed up. I thought he was with the postal service before and after.

He was with some French company that dropped him when he had cancer. This is one of the many reasons Lance hates the French. Muahahahaha.

they gave him a hard time about doping before the probe vindicated him too. but I wouldn't say he hates the french, he lives there most of the year training.

Yeah. Lance destroys everyone during the big climbs.

Ive been watching the whole thing... Team Postal owned everyone in the TTT... the climbing stages began yesterday... and went on today... Lance didn't really do his trademark "kick everyone's ass" climb... i don't know whether he's saving himself but he does have the yellow jersey now... USPS definitely has the best team since they're pretty much the only ones who stuck together most of the time. I think CBS covered it today which prevented OLN from showing it live... stupid bastards.

Nope. He lives and trains in Spain for most of the year, occassionally returning to Texas.

Doesn't he live in Spain now?

Lance Armstrong is awesome, but he doesn't completely dominate the mountains.

He usually picks a mountain stage or two to bury his only rivals (close competitors), and he's consistent throughout all the other stages. At the end of the Tour, he'll usually be up by a comfortable 7 minutes.

I'm not following this year much (no daily spot on ESPN2 like before), but offhand he's grabbed the Yellow Jersey a bit earlier than in past races. That's a bad omen for anybody hoping to unseat him. If he starts to win mountain stages outright, look for him to post an insurmountable Tiger Woods-esque lead.

Lance had a stomach virus right before the Tour started, so he's probably still trying to bounce back from that.

And he's still leading......amazing.

The leader of the Tour de France wears the yellow jersey in the current heat. After the heat, if the lead changes hands, so does the jersey.

His lead is only 40 seconds... we'll see what their strategy is... but it does look like he's saving himself... at least i'm hoping that's what he's doing... 😀

From what I saw today, Lance is conserving his energy for future moutain stages. He didn't spank everyone today as we're used to seeing, but he rode a very smart race with regard to the "big picture" of the Tour. The only guys he let go away are two who were already far behind on overall classification and also guys that he knows he can beat soundly in the time trials. Riders like Beloki and Hamilton he would cover whenever they attacked. Also, if you watched his body language, he never appeared to be in serious trouble; no rocking shoulders, slow cadence, face was composed....no tipoffs that he was having a bad day. I think he's right where he wants to be.
