When is it time to throw out old hardware?

I found my Celeron 300A today. How could I throw it out? It made it to 504 at stock voltage?

How do you decide when to toss old hardware?

What about the manual for Falcon 3.0? Now the floppies for X-Wing - those are keepers for sure.

When your wife tells you enough is enough and makes you get rid of the stuff.

My uncle works for the University's Salvage dept. And is in charge of the computer stuff.....Needless to say , I've got 4 P3 900 mhz machines running in my office and all have 4 20 gig hard drives in them just for storage.......and my wife wants me to get rid of stuff too. She said my office looks like a yard sale off of star wars.
I'd say it's a good time to clean out old stuff , when you've built everything possible using the best stuff you have laying around. And after you've put together a free computer for all of your buddies that aren't smart enough to do it for themselves. And handed out the rest of the stuff to the few that want to learn about it . And you are left with piles of Audigy Sound Blaster PCI soundcards , 28.8k PCI modems , 56k PCI modems, Network Cards , cables , empty cases. .... and bits of things you don't even remember where they came from.
I'm cleaning my office out tonight.......LOL!!!

When you are not able to sell it, even at a low price. That truely defines that it isn't worth $hit anymore...

When a ferret poops in my case, that is when I know it is time to throw it out.

It's usually time to throw things out once you start making posts about when to throw things out. :)

Seriously, when you start to question the value of something, it's time to move on. Do it band-aid style... :p

Give it to someone who can not afford a computer or to a charitable organization.

I merged two dead PII's for my upstairs neighbor who can not afford a computer. She's enjoying old games and various card/games now.

I've got my Celeron 300a, ISA SoundBlaster 16, and some PC-133 memory in FS/T. They aren't selling. :(

QFT

Now I just need to find a home for the extra soundblaster live 5.1, old p4 2.6, old dell memory modules, A64 3200+, and the Intel NIC layin' around in my cabinet.
