I am not even going to mention where this thread stems from, because most of you already know. After being on the internet for about 4 years, Iv'e learned a few things. But perhaps the most important thing I have learned(and this is speaking from experiance)is, don't believe everything you hear. I remember the thread about that particular dying, and I thought it was pretty messed up because I believed it too. After I found out this was all a hoax, I felt a bit decieved. But at the same time I was relieved that in fact that it was just a character, and no one was killed. Personally, I think the man has some sort of social problem if he would go thru the trouble of posting so much on this board, making characters, and what not. The man made a mistake, no one is perfect. Maybe everyone of his posts in the past were a lie, but this is the only topic that I can remember where he tried to play with people's emotions. It's not like he continually kept creating sympathy stories so people would feel sorry for him. Another thing is I thought it was noble of him to apologize the way he did. He could have just left the board without saying anything.

Who is the next to reveal the skeletons in the closet? NFS4, Russ, ANAND? I'm quite positive no one was expecting a post like this from dennilfloss, which is the reason why I visit message boards such as this for when I need help with my PC, checking out Hot Deals, selling stuff, discussing new hardware, and entertainment in the off-topic forum, not for feelings and sympathy. People need to keep thier guard up at all times in life, and especially on the internet since anyone can be anyone. I can be a man, a woman, gay, lesbian, anything I choose to be when it comes to being on the internet, which is the reason why I don't get too caught up in these types of situations.

BTW, this is just a rant, and it's just how I feel and my views on the internet in general and message boards such as this.

I did think him using a picture of a porn star was pretty awful though...

I will assume that you missed the request not to start any new threads on this issue.

Yo_Ma-Ma: I don't believe everything I read on here is a lie. In fact, I believe everything I do read on here for the most part is true, and I only believe someone is lying when the evidence stacks up on them. But even when they do lie, I don't get too upset because I didn't take the issue too seriously in the first place, no matter what it was. I can't speak for everyone, but I learn to seperate message boards and reality because there is a huge difference between the 2.

And this would be from a sane person?

Well it is one thing to "keep your guard up" regarding money matters, but when it comes to emotions then it is much more difficult. You might be in a position of disbelieving everything you read, I don't think that would be very satisfying. I guess I will trade being 'tricked' now and then for being able to believe the majority of people are genuine, at least to a large degree.
