When IDE RAID enabled, SATA not detected...

Hey,

I have an Asus A8VE Deluxe Mobo, when i hookup my 2 IDE drives in raid stripe mode my 2 SATA drives are not detected...but if i Disable the onboard promise ide controller (which is my ide raid setup) my sata hdd are detected fine.

It all worked before, but ever since i got my mobo back from asus (because i got the printer port repaired) i hooked it all back up and now my ide raid setup when connected and enabled wont let my sata drives be detected.

any ideas?

You will have to try a full reinstall using the RAID option before you can blame Asus.

Before that, I would wait till someone more knowledgeable about RAID issues on Asus mobos post a reply.
As a suggestion, it may be that they upgraded something on the board [BIOS] or if you have a different revision of the mobo that they gave you.

It's most likely a BIOS setting. If your SATA ports are cofigured to be detected as IDE drives, then that may be why they aren't detected when you have the IDE raid enabled..
