When I partition a hard drive...

Say I make 4 partitions. One for XP, games, normal apps and various utilities/ media storage.

Where should I install drivers and such? For video card/ sound card/ etc.

Thanks.

This is not something that you have a choice about if I understand your question correctly.

You have to install (update) drivers in Windows. When you update a driver, you are not given a choice as to where to do it like when you install a program.

You definitely have a choice as to where to download and store the drivers if you choose to do so. But, when you update a driver, it happens on the partition that contains XP and you have no say in that as far as I know.

I just realized what happens. My bad, I remembered the extraction of the drivers as installing. Thanks for reminding me.
