Something weird just happened when I started my system.

When I opened up WCPUID I noticed something strange, my Ram (PC3000) was running at 177MHz FSB (DDR356(366)). I checked my CPU FSB to make sure my CPU was running at 533MHz, and it was. I didn?t think WCPUID was reporting this correctly so I ran Sandra to see if my score would be higher then normal, and sure enough it jumped up 500Mb/s both lines.

I don?t know how to explain this, I didn?t change anything in the bios etc? I decided to restart and check my bios settings, everything was normal. When I restarted it went back to normal (266MHz).

I don?t know what I did to make this happen, or if it was some hardware glitch, however now I wish I never restarted! :p

Does anyone have suggestions as to why this may have happened? I took a screen shot also.

You must have accidentally enabled the 3:4 memory divider in your BIOS. 133/3x4=177
I see you running an Abit IT7... it definitely has the 3:4 divider easily available in the BIOS.. no tricks needed to enable it like the Asus boards, etc.

It does? I can't find it, the only ones I see is 1:1 & 4:3... :(

EDIT: I just checked out the review over at Hard OCP and in this image here, it does show a 3:4 divider. Dang, maybe I need another bios but I do have the latest!

You are using 4:3 then

133x4/3=177.3Mhz memory bus ;)

If it's stable then good! I run mine @ 149 4:3 so 149x4/3=199MHz memory bus

Not sure why, but with both these bios I can't get 177MHz. Bios 8H, will both 4:3 at 100Mhz & bios 8Y will not boot 4:3 at all, my system will just hang at the bios screen. :(

Nevermind, I got it working. DDRAM H/W strap need to be set to "low", then 3:4 showed up as default (by spd).
