When I go to Hibernate or Standby...

What's going on? I can't hibernate or standby b/c my system won't stay in either mode!

It'll do its thing...then as soon as everything is off, comes right back--not a hard reboot though. For example, with hibernate, I'll see the hibernation screen...then you can hear the drives cut out...then the system powers up again. With standby, you hear the drives shut off, the screens blank out...then the system comes out of standby all by itself.

Why is this happening?

I don't know, but my PC does that, too.
Windows 2000 SP4
DFI NFII Ultra-AL.

I've never experienced this exact issue however I did have a motherboard one time that had "Wake on LAN" enabled and whenever I tried to turn it off it would restart instantly because it was connected to a network & the motherboard saw the network & would wake up the PC.

This could be the issue as the action you the user takes to bring the PC out of the hibernate/standby mode is to press the power button.

Just my thoughts.

Hm I hadn't thought of that--I'll check my "Wake on _____" settings when I get home tonight.
