In 2015 I was in Hollywood and just got my weed permit and bought a $15 cookie edible for the first time and I did not know you were supposed to eat a piece of it, I ate the whole thing.

I had a serious problem timing my breaths and I had a delayed reaction to my body movements.

I asked a guy walking by to help me time my breaths by saying, "in and out, in and out" and it REALLY helped me time my breaths, but then the Paramedics came and they refused to help me time my breaths and was yelling at me and saying thing like "YOU ARE FULL OF SH**" and I told them I had some weed edibles they were like "YEAH, THATS WHAT IT DOES".

I was begging them to help me time my breaths and they were like "WE DO THIS SH** EVERYDAY THIS ISNT ANYTHING NEW"

They took me to the hospital and at first no one would help me but then this doctor came to me and gave me a bag to breath in and it REALLY helped me to calm down, i left like 20 minutes later.

Nowadays I can smoke and eat weed without any problems to my breathing, Im not sure why this happened my first time.

I found this video on edible panic attacks and I can really relate to it:

Weed does give anxiety to some. I tried it and it basically did the same to me, got a huge anxiety attack. Not so much having issues with breathing though, so very fast heart rate and feeling completely anxious and paranoid and stuff. I did not know at the time it was an anxiety attack but when I looked more into it when I got home (it was still happening) I realized what it was. I basically had to let it run it's course, lasted about 3 days for me.

Never tried it since.

So, if I have depression and anxiety, I cant eat weed?

It depends, for some people, it actually helps depression and anxiety. I would say try it in a small dose to see but only do it if you're alone as it's the idea of being around others that can trigger the anxiety, at least for me I think that's what it was.

Smoking weed makes me very paranoid and anxious and I suffer from bipolar depression and some anxiety. But I tried 2.5mg indica edibles and they helped with mild anxiety actually. I have to get more. I live in NJ where you need a prescription, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

You became super acutely aware that if you stopped Breathing you would Die. Such is the precarity of Life.

Don't stop Breathing, you'll Die.....In......Out.....In......

It depends on the strain people. Some strains will give you anxiety. Some strains will take it away. The problem with most, if not all edibles (that you don't make yourself) is that you do not know the strain. Sativa/Indica/hybrid is practically meaningless for this stuff. Even within a single strain, a little bit will relieve the anxiety while too much will add anxiety.

For me, this has always been an indication that I've gone beyond my tolerance level. That's one of the nice things about buying standardized product, it's much easier to control dosing.

The only time I ever had a real panic-attack in my life it was weed-related but it was also the only time I've had a drug-interaction with weed.

I was taking an antibiotic called erythromycin and for whatever reason the weed I smoked (or something it was laced with) gave me what I can only describe as a 10 minute or so head-rush of extreme terror.

Never experienced anything like it before or since.

The only thing that happens to me when I overdo it with weed is I can't keep my eyes open. Even then however a high dose can be mostly overcome by a good shot of adrenalin or an ice-cold shower unlike opiates or alcohol.

Thing is its pretty much impossible (for me at least) to do "too much" THC when smoking flower at least. My lungs will cry for mercy LONG before any other kind of unpleasant side-effects. In fact the only times I've done too much and passed involentarily out have involved concentrates/dabbing.

I've tried both smokable (flower) weed and different kinds of edibles in various doses As a pain analgesic. None have really helped...things still hurt...I just don't care as much...but I HATE the high. Doesn't matter if it's sativa, indica, or some hybrid...I don't like the buzz. Then again, it's very rare for me to drink more than a single beer...

For some folks it just doesn't work and thanks to the lack of federally funded research I'd be lying if I said anyone knows exactly why that is.

I find CBD-heavy concentrates help me to STAY asleep and ease anxiety symptoms plus they help quite a bit with my neuropathic foot pain. Doesn't do much/anything for my back or neck though!

Also I must admit I enjoy the "high" I get from good weed! :D

I once made some banana bread with weed infused butter, i made the mistake of putting it beside my desk, i ate one slice, then the munchies hit and i finished the whole loaf....that was a amazing day. I can definitely understand how people get messed up as it's one hell of a ride.

My tolerance levels are through the roof though, i can't imagine what it would be like for someone with no tolerance

I've done enough field research over a couple decades on this to know, depending on how far much I've exceeded tolerance, it tends to initially be increased paranoia and anxiety, and for higher levels, I'll turn pale and break out in a cold sweat (independent observers have remarked on the paleness). This was all from flower as well.

Avoid Sativa strains if you suffer from more than mild anxiety, many of them can/will exacerbate it in my experience. Every strain is different though, just as every consumer and the chemical effects it will have on the body and mind will differ.

Edibles are easiest to "over-do" it with dosing, since you consume it some time before ever feeling the effects of what you ingested. Many times, people underestimate their strength, and it's not always newbs that get themselves in trouble with it.

In case anyone reading this wasn't aware: You cannot overdose on Cannabis, it's simply not possible to die from consumption of THC in any form or amount (unless maybe you were allergic). But you can definitely over-do it and have an uncomfortable and anxious time until you come down.

I used to have issues with certain sativa-strains related to East Coast Sour Diesel making me paranoid. The symptoms seem to have eased lately though (smoked some the other day) no idea why.

As an aside I'm getting ready to start my own home-designed "grow-box". On 10/1/21 growing @ home becomes legal for medical patients in CT and I'm excited!
